Ever since my senior year in high school, I wanted to be become a graphic designer. That always seemed kind of strange to me considering most high school students don't know the meaning of the word. Their idea of a profession would be one of the more defined ones, such as lawyer, doctor, architect. What you see to the left is my first "graphic design" project, created in my art class in high school. My art teacher was a practical lady, and a real ball-buster. She had no delusions of grandeur for me, she gave it to me straight- "Nate, don't try to be some starving artist, you should be a graphic designer". I never looked back since.
I was rummaging through my closet one day and came across my student portfolio. I immediately flashed back to my college years. Working till 4am, drinking coffee by the gallon, stabbing myself with the exacto knife. College is for drunken frat parties and getting laid, right? No not me, I was too busy creating my graphic design portfolio to partake in that frivolity. I just couldn't see all this good work be shoved in a closet somewhere never to see the light of day again. So here you go, feel free to check out the outcome of my many late nights. |
